Rabbitholes and Revelations
When I created this series, I had a number of profound changes in my life. There was a fear of losing my identity; self-doubt was surrounding my every move and I began to make poor decisions. Fairly rapidly, I felt like I was falling into a deep hole and I needed to get out. I decided to take time to reflect and try to learn why these things were happening. I spent a full year in therapwhere I took a trip back to my childhood and started a quest to seek out what had happened, what I had in my life, did not have and what I wanted. The "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" story is a theme that many artists have adapted in their work and I, too, made a connection to Alice and the proverbial rabbit hole. The story's interpretation took form into some fantastic and romantic tableaux, taking moments, hopes and wishes, transforming them into a fairy tale. I see this series as a glimpse of my life's journey with the door open to another chapter or two full of more revelations.
